| Do you have questions about snow removal? |
| |
Call the City Public Works Department (263-8933) during normal business hours with questions or comments concerning snow removal. |
| When will the plows be in my area? |
| |
An orderly procedure has been established for snow removal. Plow operators follow the order. Rest assured they will be there as quickly as possible. |
| Can I park on posted Snow Emergency Routes? |
| |
Yes, if parking is normally allowed on a snow route street. However, your vehicle MUST BE REMOVED when there is an emergency declared by the Public Works Director or Roadway Maintenance Supervisor. Snow emergency announcements will be on the local radio station and in the local newspaper. |
| Why does the snow plow deposit snow at the end of my driveway? |
| |
During the plowing process, snow is moved from the street, leaving a wind row along the entire curb and boulevard area which includes the driveway entrance. To help minimize the wind row, always shovel snow into the grassy area rather than into the street. Plows often need to make more than one pass as the snow continues to fall and then to completely clean the street. |
| Where am I supposed to park? |
| |
You may park your vehicle on the street. However, you may run the risk of having your vehicle plowed in by a city snow plow. If you have the option, the best place to park your vehicle is off-street (driveway). Otherwise, if you live on a designated snow emergency where “No Parking During Snow Removal” signs are posted, you will want to park on a side street first and then after the snow emergency has been lifted, you may move your vehicle back to that street. |
| What am I supposed to do with the snow from my driveway or sidewalk? |
| |
When shoveling your driveway and/or sidewalks, please place your snow on your own property and not in the street because it does become a traffic hazard. |
