Muscatine Aquatic Center Location: In Weed Park (Park Drive) Phone: (563) 263-0884 Season: May 23td through September 7th (subject to change without notice) Hours of Operation: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. daily Admission Fees: Youth $3.00, Adult (18 and up)$4.00, Youth Sea-son Pass $60.00, Adult Season Pass $90.00, Family Season Pass $150.00. Discount ticket books are also available. There are 15 ad-mission tickets in a book. Youth Book $30.00, Adult Book (18 and up) $45.00. All fees include the 7% Iowa State Sales Tax. Carver Swim Center - Indoor Pool Location: At the Muscatine High School, 2705 Cedar St. Phone: 264-0032 Season: June through March Hours of Operation: On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Carver Swim Center is open from 5:00am to 6:30am for Early Bird Lap Swim. Open swim is held on various weekends at Carver from November through February. Admission Fees: Special Early Bird Lap Swim fee is $9.50 per month or you may pay daily admission of $2.00. Pool Rentals: Carver Swim Center and the Muscatine Aquatic Center are available to rent outside of scheduled hours for birthday parties or other events. The Parks and Recreation Department will provide the lifeguards. The fee is $50.00 for Carver (up to 50 people) and $150.00 for the Muscatine Aquatic Center (up to 50 people). Rentals are scheduled in 1 ½ hour increments. If you wish to have additional time or more than 50 people, additional charges are incurred. The Multi-Purpose room at the Aquatic Center is also available for rent for $50 for a 2 hour time period and may be reserved either during open swim times or outside of open swim hours. Call the Parks and Recreation office at 263-0241 for more information or to schedule a rental. SEASON PASSES: Season passes are honored for open swim at the Muscatine Aquatic Center. The family pass rate applies to anyone in the family listed as a dependent on the latest IRS tax return. Unauthorized use of a swim pass could result in the loss of the pass for the entire season. Special Pool Events Fantastic Father’s Day! All fathers accompanied by their children get in FREE on Father’s Day! Don’t miss out on this special Sunday, June 21st! Infant/Toddler Swim: The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite infants and toddlers up to age 5 to swim at a reduced price. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian age 18 or older at all times. Parents/guardians get in free with their toddler. Senior Swim: The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite all seniors ages 55 and over to swim at a reduced rate. This is an opportunity for you and your friends to enjoy the aquatic center and what it has to offer. Weekly Water Challenge All swimmers 18 years and younger are invited to the Aquatic Center for the weekly challenge on Friday evenings. Join the contests for $1.00! Parent and Child Water Adjustment Time to get those little fish in the water! This class introduces basic skills to the parent and child including; aquatic adjustment, water safety and swimming readiness skills. Parents are taught to safely work with their child in the water including appropriate support techniques, etc. Class is designed for children ages 6 months to 3 years.
Aquatics Programs To enroll on the Learn to Swim Program, the participant must have successfully completed or be able to perform the skills of the pre-ceding course. Skills will be tested on the first day of class. Participants may be shifted to another class. Children must be 6 years of age to participate in the Learn to Swim Program. Fee: $ 30.00 Days: All classes are held Monday through Friday.
Semi-Private Lessons: These classes are designed to provide more individual instruction (two students per instructor) and to allow for children to work on specific problem areas. NOTE: Red Cross Certification is not avail-able in semi-private lessons. Fee: $25.00 Days: Monday through Friday
Preschool Aquatics: This class is designed for children to develop a comfort level in and around the water as well as a readiness for learn to swim. Students are taught foundation skills such as assisted floating, kicking and working underwater. Class is designed for children ages 4 and 5.
Scuba Diving: A complete scuba diving course with certification is available. The class is held at Carver Swim Center and is instructed by Mark Costello. Contact Parks and Recreation at 263-0241 for more information on class times and availability. |
