Safety Building The goal of the Muscatine Fire Department is to immediately respond to all structural fires with 2 engines, the aerial truck, and 1 ambulance. It is our duty to confine, and extinguish fires, to immediately respond to and provide coordination and rescue during natural or man made disasters, and to immediately respond to and assist the public in non-emergency situations. In the event a fire or other type of emergency has reached the magnitude beyond the capabilities of the on duty shift, off duty personal are called in to help and maybe even the calling in of other area fire departments. In these situations the fire fighters of the Muscatine Fire Department follow our Incident Command System to make sure all efforts and actions performed at the emergency run as smoothly as possible. We also use salvage and overhaul at fires if at all possible in an attempt to reduce anymore damage to items involved in a fire or other emergency.
